St Martins staff and residents came together for our annual Summer Fair in the beautiful Whittington Park, Archway on July 29th. We have not had this for 2 years due to the pandemic. It was an incredible day for both staff and residents and there was a fantastic vibe about the event.
The summer fair allowed St Martin’s staff and residents to come together and celebrate the wonderful achievements we have made as a community. The incredible summer weather provided a perfect backdrop to a range of activities that facilitated engagement through fun and participation, including football, table tennis, chess, raffle draw and other fun activities.
The event was a great opportunity to showcase the incredible growth and talents that many of our residents share. Ben from our Chalkhill Road unit recited his poems, providing an inspirational insight into his story of mental health. This was one of the highlights of the event. The whole St Martins community is incredibly proud of the openness and courage he demonstrated in sharing his work with the wider community.
Community engagement and integration is a key component in the recovery and development of our residents in their journey toward independence. Our annual summer fair is one of the prominent examples of how active community participation contributes towards the recovery of our residents and we are committed to building on our connection to the community.
St Martins would like to thank everyone who attended this event and all of those who played their part in organising the fair, which gave our staff and residents a collection of joyful memories with fun vibes and friendly community spirit.
