We would like to wish all our Muslim staff, residents, and their families a happy and prosperous Eid al-Adha.
Eid al-Adha is one of Islam’s most important holidays and among the biggest Islamic holidays of the year. It commemorates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim, known as Abraham in Christianity and Judaism, to sacrifice his son, Ismail as ordered by Allah.
It is also called the Festival of Sacrifice, Qurbani, or al-Id al-Kabir, which signifies sacrifice, devotion, charity, and compassion. It marks the culmination of the hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.
Eid al-Adha Mubarak from all of us here at St Martins to everyone celebrating in the UK and around the world!
