Annual Residents’ BBQ

We were delighted to bring residents, staff and guests together for our Annual Residents’ BBQ, a relaxed and enjoyable day focused on building connections, confidence and community.
Residents played an active role throughout the event, helping to prepare the food and get everything ready for the day. Everyone enjoyed a delicious selection of burgers, salad, jollof rice with chicken, and cake for dessert.
There was plenty of fun too, including a lively Bingo competition, with prizes awarded to our first, second and third-place winners.

We were especially pleased to welcome the Deputy Mayor of Islington, who spent time meeting and speaking with residents. Staff also gave a short presentation about the work St Martin of Tours carries out across Islington and the projects we support.

One of the highlights of the day came from a resident with a passion for writing and rapping, who performed one of his own songs for the Deputy Mayor and our guests. It was a fantastic opportunity for him to share his creativity, express himself and perform with confidence.

We were also pleased to welcome Karen and Rowan from Community Homes, who joined us and spent time getting to know residents.
The BBQ was a positive and memorable occasion, giving residents the opportunity to get involved, socialise, share their talents, build confidence and feel seen and valued. A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success.
